Coral Reef Sailing

2019 Florida Sea Base

A 40- to 50-foot sailing yacht will become your home for a week.  It has a large self-contained galley and dining area where you will prepare wholesome meals from the fresh or canned foods supplied by Sea Base, supplemented by fresh catches from trolling while underway.

Your captain will instruct you in navigation, fishing, and sailing, and will remain on board for the entire trip.  You choose your own float plan to explore the beautiful Florida Keys.  This trip offers one-of-a-kind snorkeling and abundant fishing.  You'll spend a "port day" back at Sea Base and have the chance to demonstrate your sailing skills in our fleet of Hunter Sailboats.  This is a seven-day event.

The Coral Reef sailing crews are limited to a minimum of four (4) youth or a maximum of six (6) youth and two (2) adults per crew.  For more info click HERE.

All participants must be age 14 OR have graduated from the 8th grade and be age 13 by the time of the trip. Each crew must have a majority of youth participants and requires a minimum of two adult leaders that meet BSA standards as stated in the Guide to Safe Scouting.

Del-Mar-Va Council has reserved two crews for the above-mentioned dates.  Registrations fees include Sea Base fees, transportation, and Blue Sky Adventure fees for pre-trip excursions.

Cost
$1,815.00 per Participant
Cancellation Policy
$150 of the fee is non-refundable. Because substantial payments will be made by the council well in advance of the departure date, there are NO refunds of any amount you have paid (even if paid ahead of the payment schedule) unless the entire contingent is full and your vacated spot is filled by another youth participant. Vacated spots will be filled in the order in which they become vacant. A waiting list will be established by Council and alternates will be taken in order from that list. If you "find" a replacement, that scout will be placed on the waiting list in the order received. Refunds will not be paid until the completion of the trip.
